Diane Bastick

I was born in England and moved to Australia with my husband, daughter and son in 1982 and, although always interested in art, and having spent a year at Harrow Art College after leaving school, I did not take up artistic pursuits again until 2000.

A term attending an evening TAFE class followed by an introduction to local artist Suzanne Lindhorst, who was an inspiration and introduced me to other local artists, made the decision to carry on painting an easy one. I have been a member of Wanneroo Art Society since 2001, and for some time was also its Treasurer.

I am also a member, and Treasurer, of the North Coast Art Club, a smaller but very active organization. My preferred medium is acrylics with occasional use of pastels, and I lean towards the more abstract style, taking my inspiration from the amazing colours of the Australian outback, beaches and seas. I frequently take part in local exhibitions and over the years have sold a number of paintings.

Group Exhibitions (all held in Western Australia) including:

  • Wanneroo Art Society
  • North Coast Art Club
  • City of Joondalup
  • City of Wanneroo
